When we talk about a facade cladding, it refers to the external appearance of a building. Mostly, the term is used when making reference to design, style or color. External cladding, on the other hand, refers to an external protective layer that protects and beautifies a building envelope.

Siding is a term primarily used for residential structures, referring to exterior materials like vinyl, wood, or aluminum that are directly attached to the walls.Cladding, on the other hand, is a broader term used in both residential and commercial buildings, encompassing a wider range of materials and installation methods, often including layers separated from the wall by a framework.

Some super high end cladding materials can cost much more up front. However, siding cost is just one factor to consider. It isn't the only consideration to make.

When building a deck on a budget, wood is the cheaper choice. Make sure you choose pressure-treated lumber as using untreated wood is just asking for trouble. Being exposed to rain, snow, sun, and wind will do a number on wood that is not properly weatherproofed.
